DETERMINE YOUR ELIGIBILITY

J-1 Inter/Trainee Eligibiliy

INTERN: 

  • Currently enrolled at a degree granting institution outside the U.S.

  • OR a recent grad with a degree but not more than 12 months prior to program start date

  • Max 12 month program

TRAINEE:

  • Graduated from a foreign post-secondary institution

  • Have at least one year of prior work experience outside of the U.S.

  • Max 18 month program​

J-1 VISA APPLICATION PROCESS

Step 1: Submit resume or start your application here: 
Step 2: Determine program eligibility (Intern/Trainee)

Step 3: Complete a Skype interview to determine English level proficiency
Step 4: Provide supportive documents
Step 5: Find a suitable company to host your J-1 program
Step 6: Skype interview with host company supervisor
Step 7: Receive confirmation for completed application
Step 8: Receive your DS-2019 in the mail
Step 9: Take DS-2019 to U.S. Embassy for your J-1 visa

Step 10: Prepare for Departure
